The first tree planting campaign of our Destilla sustainability project was a complete success. In cooperation with the German Association for the Protection of Forest (SDW) and the Bavarian State Forests, 621 trees were planted near Monheim in the Donau-Ries district.
Destilla donates one euro to the project for each invoice sent out. In this way, almost 1,000 trees came together in the recently completed financial year 2019/2020, of which the first half has now been planted. With the support of two suppliers, 121 trees could be added.
The selection of firs, sorb trees and wild cherries helps to prepare the domestic forest for climate change and reforest the damage to the bark beetle. In a few years - when the plants turn into young trees - a sea of white blossoms will be waiting when walking through the forest in spring.
The Destilla apprentice, who planted some trees themselves, were also hard-working helpers. Deputy forest manager Georg Dischner gave them important information along the way.
The planting of the remaining 500 trees is planned for next November. Then another fallow land in the forests of the district will be revived.
