Destilla is now represented in board of the German Association of the Flavour Industry (DVAI). As part of the annual general meeting, the vice president Matthias Thienel was elected as the new board member and will take over the position of the representative for the small and medium sized companies.
During his three-year term, Matthias Thienel wants to give a strong voice to small and medium-sized businesses in the association and seeks to ensure a balance of interests together with the market leaders in the industry. He is particularly concerned about the shortage of skilled workers and consumer confidence in the industry.
"Even for the flavor industry, the shortage of skilled workers is a fact - for small and medium-sized family businesses to the market leaders. Together with my colleagues of the board, I would like to try to make the industry attractive again as a future-oriented and diversified industry. This also includes improving the image of our industry. We have always struggled with prejudice against our actions. I would like to counter these with transparency and show consumers how natural our products really are", explains Mr. Thienel.
As the German Flavour Ambassador for the European Flavour Association (EFFA), the 33-year-old lawyer, in addition to his new role as board member, plays an important role in DVAI when it comes to public relations. As a pioneer in the field of natural products and winner of the Food & Drink Award of the UK magazine LUXlife in the category "Best Natural Flavours Manufacturer 2018" Destilla assumes a leading role. "We are very happy about the award. For us, it is both a confirmation of our actions and an incentive for the future to become even betterâ, concludes Thienel.
